Halloween Weekend Haps

What a fun Halloween weekend!  Per usual we tried to cram in as much as we possibly could.  Friday kicked off with our movie night.  We finally let Jordan watch the Wizard of Oz.  Not sure if she understands that 'Dorothy' is her great grandmother but...it was interesting trying to explain it to her!

Festive Fridays 2.0

Happy Friday people!  This Friday couldn't come soon enough.  Let's kick off this festive day with a few favorites I've been loving:

What It's Like Raising Kids Away From Family

I've wanted to write about this topic for a long time now.  In this season of my life, I'm doing a lot of self reflection and it's a topic I think not that many people get to talk about.  I've lived away from home (New York) now for nine years.  That's nine years of missed holidays, birthdays, games and school functions for my nieces.  It's a strange thing as you begin to carve out your own life separate from your family.  There were times when I was living in Los Angeles where I was so homesick I could barely stand it.  With time, this got better and it was a tremendous learning experience for me.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Surprise!  My blog got a little face lift!  Super happy to be posting again and having such a great looking (and creative) place to do so.  If anyone has recommendations on what content they'd like to see, just drop a me a comment.  Now...on to the fun stuff.

Twas' a GREAT weekend full of all things Fall! This time of year has me craving to visit new places.  If only we could all live in a quaint little New England town this time of year.  Since I'm an adventurer at heart, I thought I would pull together a small bucket list of places I'd love to visit someday during the Fall.

A Laundry Room Refresh and Mood Board

Over two years into owning our home and we are just now turning our attention towards the laundry room.  When we moved in, the laundry room more or less looked like this:
Do you see those beige walls!? If I had a true before picture it would reveal white wire MDF shelving (with the barcode stickers still on).  We replaced the heinous fluorescent light fixture with this small (but impactful) flush mount from CB2.  For only $60.00 we were sold.  The floors (not pictured) are a lovely linoleum most likely original to when the house was built (1990).  Woof.  There is a small window that wasn't framed in and looked well...lonely.

All things Fall.

Still cracks me up! Luke was only 3 weeks old!

Fall, it's my most FAVORITE time of year.  When the leaves change color and the cozy sweaters come out of storage.  Growing up in New York there was always something magical about this time of year.  Now that we live in Seattle, there will only be a few more weeks of good weather before the rain sets in so we are bound and determined to make the most of the sunshine!  Here are a few ways we are enjoying the Fall season.

Luke Turns O N E !!!!

My little Lukie bear is officially ONE! How did this happen!?  Just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.  What a year of learning this has been.  Two kids was a complete game changer for us.  I'm happy to report that we've settled into a very manageable routine now and Jordan is (mostly) happy she has a brother and not the sister that she apparently wanted.
