A Laundry Room Refresh and Mood Board

Over two years into owning our home and we are just now turning our attention towards the laundry room.  When we moved in, the laundry room more or less looked like this:
Do you see those beige walls!? If I had a true before picture it would reveal white wire MDF shelving (with the barcode stickers still on).  We replaced the heinous fluorescent light fixture with this small (but impactful) flush mount from CB2.  For only $60.00 we were sold.  The floors (not pictured) are a lovely linoleum most likely original to when the house was built (1990).  Woof.  There is a small window that wasn't framed in and looked well...lonely.

We chose to paint first.  I picked White Dove by Benjamin Moore.  It's a pretty creamy white that doesn't read too yellow in our space.  Next, we wanted to tackle the window and frame it in since we knew it would be an easy job.  I glanced at this window tutorial from Yellow Brick Home and boy were they dead on.  We ripped out the trim first.  Here's the before (sorry for the bad lighting but--you get the point).
 And after...

Can you believe it's the same window!?  What a huge (cheap) difference.  So here we are today:

We still need to figure out a lot of a 'plumbing' type obstacles.  If anyone knows how to easily move drain lines or inset a dryer hose, let me know!!  We have a new dryer on the way that will match our washer #goals.  I've put together a mood board of the direction we are headed.

We plan to do the tile install next.  I'm really feeling this matte black penny tile with a dark charcoal grout from Home Depot.  Little by little it will come together I'm sure.  Can't wait to show you all the final reveal!

Whoo hoo for making laundry folding (kind of) fun!
